Selling items in Books Marketplace is a great way to create additional revenue stream for your business sharing designs and ideas with the community. There are a range of different items we currently accept into Books Marketplace.
The Books Marketplace is built upon the royalty-free stock concept. This means that when you sell an item on the Books Marketplace, you’re granting the buyer a license to use that file in certain ways, but you retain ownership of the item and can sell as many licenses as you want. Once you upload an item, it’s available to be purchased an unlimited number of times by members of the community.
Everything you sell as a vendor on the Marketplaces must be your own original content, and if you use any assets that are owned by someone else, you must have a license that grants you permission to use and resell them.
In order to maintain standards across the Marketplace, all items submitted to us will be manually reviewed and only approved if they meet the quality guidelines set by us. You should ensure you are familiar with the guidelines for the item type you are submitting before you uploading your item(s) – you can find all this information in the Vendor guides section.
The approval by the site operator of your products to be sold on the site does not necessarily mean an approval or due diligence on your rights to sell a certain product as your property.
HOW DOES THE SELLING PROCEDURE WORKS?
1 – Submit a new product from your dashboard
This might be a template, plugin, icon set or graphics pack. Check Product Creation Guideline section to create the best item possible
2 – Getting Your Item Approved
If your item meets all our criteria – our review team will approve your item. Soon after this, it will be uploaded and live on our Marketplace for customers to buy.
If your item is not approved, we’ll let you know and give you feedback on what issues prevented us from being able to accept your submission. We encourage you to act on the feedback where possible and resubmit your item when you think it’s ready. Our marketplace team want to help you get your items into the marketplace, but it’s also important for us to maintain high standards across the community so please don’t be discouraged if your item is not approved first time.
4 – Build your portfolio of items
Once your first item is approved, you’re now an official Marketplace Vendor – Congratulations! Now the sky is the limit – get creating your next items and build your portfolio in the Marketplace. It’s important to remember that the more items you have in the marketplace, the better chance you have of making sales.
5 – Enhance your sales with your own marketing
Our most successful vendors actively promote their items through other channels. Think about sharing links on Facebook, Twitter or other social networks. You could even email your subscribers about your latest designs.
During product submission be sure to select the best categories and tags suitable for your products to be identified by search engines.
6 – Get paid for your sales!
You keep 70% of the item price for each sale you make Books Marketplace – that means if you have one item selling for $12 – you only have to sell 12 of them to make over $100 profit. There is predefined threshold of 20 USD that you need to meet in order to request withdraw. However a special case may arise if a high number of product sold may be at risk of potential returns.
7. Product Return Policy
Each vendor should indicate their own return policy clearly within the product page, it should be clear in the number of days, conditions or if there is no refund at all. An estimated digital product for download could be returned within 48hs unless there is any problem.
